Question about "Upgrade" version

I have seen few products with “Upgrade” version available few days after the original product was launched.
I want to know how to use these “Upgrade” version products.
Do I have to sell it along with the original product or sell it separately as a stand along product.
https://salesfunnelri.com/resources/The “upgrades” are the OTO’s for the particular product. You can sell them as is, or you can create a sales funnel using them, this is what I do. I create a front end product and use the upgrade version for the one-time offers, which I then charge a higher price for.
